I was pleased to see my book, While Europe Slept, discussed in your pages, but utterly baffled by the suggestion that I argue for a “Christian reawakening,” which your reviewer rejects in favor of a “return to the Western values… of the Enlightenment – to the robust rationalism [of] the American Declaration of Independence.”  In fact it is precisely the latter values that my book argues for – not a “Christian reawakening.”
